Vacation ownership mogul Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV) has just announced the soft opening of its latest property, Maui Bay Villas by Hilton Grand Vacations. This property marks the first all-suite luxury resort on Maui and the brand’s tenth property in Hawaii.
Located on the southwest coast of Maui in Kihei, Maui Bay Villas has completed its first phase of construction and has opened 31 suites to owners and guests, a pool, a sundeck overlooking Maalaea Bay, and a fitness center.
The accommodations consist of one- and two-bedroom suites which include in-room amenities like full kitchens, living areas, and dining areas.
New phases of the resort are already in development with full construction completion anticipated in 2027. Ultimately, the resort will include 388 villas, an on-site restaurant, a clubhouse, a poolside bar and grill, and over 15 acres of recreational space.
HGV President and CEO Mark Wang stated:
“Maui Bay Villas is one of our most highly anticipated properties and we are thrilled to be able to share our vacation lifestyle and aloha with owners, guests and the Maui community. HGV is dedicated to being a steward of our environment, a good neighbor to our community, a respected employer, and a phenomenal host. It’s truly a pleasure and honor to open on beautiful Maui.”
In line with Hilton Grand Vacations’ commitment to environmental sustainability, Maui Bay Villas has water-efficient appliances in all suites and public areas, including water-filling stations to encourage the use of refillable water bottles. The property will also avoid the use of single-use plastic in the food sector when possible, as well as utilize other environmentally-conscious products throughout the property, such as landscaping.
During the construction process under the guidance of a local arborist, the brand has transplanted more than 80 coconut trees to nurseries as they await to be replanted on-site, as well as landscaping the grounds with a variety of native plants to cultivate a lush and thriving environment.
The Maui Bay Villas leadership includes General Manager Will Bethel, Chief Engineer Jay Corpuz, Director of Guest Services Shermila Beauvais, Executive Housekeeper Joy Valenzuela, and Director of Safety and Security Kyle Eldridge.
As the resort begins to fill open positions, Hilton Grand Vacations is working to help in the community and employees by creating an employee ride-sharing program, food drives, beach clean-ups, and a resort recycling program.
A larger, grand opening for the property is likely to take place sometime in 2022.
