Vail Resorts Acquires Hidden Valley Resort, Seven Springs Mountain Resort, and Laurel Mountain Ski Area

Leading global mountain resort operator Vail Resorts, Inc. has just announced the acquisition of three Pennsylvania resorts: Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Hidden Valley Resort, and Laurel Mountain Ski Area from Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Inc.

For an estimated $118 million, Vail Resorts’ purchase includes the resorts, the ski areas, a hotel, the conference center, and other mountain-related operations. These properties will join Vail Resorts’ existing property inventory, increasing their offerings to 40 resorts in some of the most desired winter destinations around the world.

Due to the timing of this acquisition, the operation of these three resorts will continue as they have in past years for the 2021-22 winter season. For the 2022-23 North American ski and ride season, Vail Resorts will add its Epic Pass products to the properties. This new offering will give Epic Pass Holders in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas a new regional destination for all of their favorite winter activities.

Located one hour southeast of Pittsburgh, Seven Springs Mountain Resort is a four-season destination with a focus on winter vacationing. As one of the largest ski resorts in the state, there are 285 skiable acres and 750 vertical feet for guests to enjoy. The property also offers an abundance of amenities including a conference center, a 418-room hotel, a full-service spa, and tubing.

Hidden Valley includes 110 skiable acres, 470 vertical feet, 26 trails, and two terrain parks. Laurel Mountain includes 70 skiable acres and 761 vertical feet.

Included in this transaction were all assets related to the mountain operations and base-area lodging, conference center, and amenities. With approval from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Vail Resorts will take over the state land lease for Laurel Mountain.
